Introduction to Strength Training
Experience
Being physically active has been a theme in my life since a young age. I was a dancer for 14 years, 6 of those competitively, Cheered for 4 and was a state qualifying, middle distance, track athlete in high school.
After having my third child, I worked up the courage to begin strength training. I have been consistently training 3-6 days/week for the past 4 years. 95% of that time I self-programmed based on 100’s of hours of research, training, trial and error. There are many visible benefits of strength training, but what keeps me coming back is how it has positively impacted my mental and emotional health and the ability to keep active with my three kids.
Favorite way to stay fit
When I’m hitting the gym, you’ll find me in the weight room. Nothing beats the feeling of pushing yourself and getting stronger week over week or crushing one more rep when you didn’t think you had it in you.
What does the Good Life
mean to you?
Having the energy to do life big, say yes to adventures and be present with my kids.
Guilty pleasure
I don’t like to associate guilt with my pleasures, but I do eat an embarrassing amount of take-out Hu Hot, Pho or Thai food while watching corny rom-coms.
Normal hours
Weekdays 5-8 am. Willing meet one off some evenings and weekends.
